In a collaborative production between Bariloche Sustentable and FAB LAB BRC, we created this tool using digital manufacturing technology that produces plastic threads from PET bottles. We designed the tool in collaboration with Alejandro Sarmiento, and his work is being widely disseminated. The PET plastics have mechanical strength, durability, and heat-shrinkability, making them a highly functional material. Our goal is to find new applications for reusing soda bottles, acknowledging that this solution is not definitive but offers an alternative.
