This package for STL pet collars is designed specifically for high-resolution 3D printing purposes. It contains all necessary components to fit a 12-15 inch (circumference) neck, like those of pugs, cocker spaniels, and most terriers. A collar with a 12-inch circumference might be suitable for very large cats as well. The components can also be scaled up or down in slicer software to accommodate bigger or smaller animals. However, beware that decreasing the scale may compromise the resolution of desktop FDM printers, thus impacting the quality of printed parts. For optimal results, the collar should be printed using a flexible material. Due to its size requirements, a large printer platform is necessary; if you want to split the collar into smaller parts to accommodate a smaller platform, please contact me for an additional charge. It's crucial to print the collar in round orientation as specified in the STL file, ensuring that layers support the worn and closed orientation. All other components should be printed using hard, durable materials like ABS or PLA. Since the majority of stress is applied to the Tag Ring Assembly, these parts should be printed with high-quality 100% infill. This ensures the collar will hold up well under wear and tear. Assembly involves inserting the Buckle Pin through the middle opening of the collar, followed by Buckle Piece 1 on one side, and finally Buckle Piece 2 from the other side to interlock with Buckle Piece 1. Use a small amount of glue inside Buckle Piece 2 to prevent excess adhesive from seeping onto the Buckle Rod during drying. The Buckle Pin rotates freely around the rod of the Buckle Piece 1 & 2 Assembly. Tag Ring Piece 2 is inserted into its collar slot before Tag Ring Piece 1. Glue should be applied to the socket of Tag Ring Piece 1 prior to interlocking with Tag Ring Piece 2. Clean any excess adhesive during drying to ensure a smooth assembly process.
