Pet Bowl Holder

Pet Bowl Holder

My sister-in-law's aunt recently adopted a new cat, which led to her inquiring about my recent purchase of a 3D printer. She requested that I create a custom bowl for her beloved pet. I was inspired by marcsulf's innovative design on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:247231), but as a novice printer user, I felt uncertain about using it to hold food. Therefore, I modified the design to accommodate a stainless steel pet bowl measuring approximately 135mm x 55mm. The OpenSCAD file is optimized for rapid rendering due to its low resolution setting. To achieve smoother results, users can adjust the $fn value from 30 to a higher number (I personally used 720, which might be excessive). This model necessitates the incorporation of the Write.scad module in OpenSCAD; please refer to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16193 for further information. To utilize the Write.scad module effectively, users must copy both Letters.dxf and Write.scad files into the same folder as the active OpenSCAD file. The accompanying STL file is a low-resolution example of the completed model. I captured this image immediately after printing the holder, without any subsequent cleaning or refinishing. The result appears significantly more polished following a gentle sanding and scraping process.
