#Update I added Version 3 to the planter design, incorporating small spacers at the bottom to maintain distance between the plant's soil and the tray. In Version 2, water has difficulty reaching the soil if the planter features holes only on its very bottom. While V2 may have its advantages, I opted for it because it can make sense if your plant doesn't require a lot of water. However, I'm not exactly skilled at caring for plants. I am a very inexperienced plant owner, and I had initially planned to build a closed-loop soil watering system, but that project remains on my to-do list! I remembered the trick my grandma used to provide fresh water for her chickens with an inverted bottle, which inspired me to do the same for our plants. The bottle cap comes from dpruim, which worked flawlessly for me! Thank you very much. To create this setup, use a thick PET bottle (preferably 0.5-liter multi-use versions) that can tolerate a slight vacuum. If reusable bottles are scarce in your area, try using glass instead. You will need to experiment with the thread a bit to achieve a good fit. If it leaks, try applying some PTFE tape. For reference, my bottle is a half-liter reusable sparkling water bottle from Germany, which features an unmodified thread that should be similar on most bottles. In OpenSCAD, you can adjust the diameter and height of the tray, as well as the pipe diameter, to determine how high the water level will be in the tray. Be cautious not to use very thin pipes; I recommend a minimum diameter of 6mm. Also, the longer the distance between the bottle and the tray, the bigger the minimum diameter should be. The plant itself is not part of the model and must be purchased in real life. It's a Zamioculcas if you're interested in that type of plant.
