PET Bottle Opener

PET Bottle Opener

thingiverse

I create this compact PET bottle opener to solve the problem of opening caps with limited wrist mobility. The other day, I strained my wrist and couldn't manage to open a PET bottle cap, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and build it myself. https://youtu.be/65JApkwoHAc [Requirements] * Attachments require minimal force * The turning mechanism should never slip * It needs to be compact in size * Easy to tell the front from the back of the device [Idea] The angled fin structure provides a solid grip on the cap, while the center hole allows for easy removal by pushing with your thumb. [Print conditions] ABS and PLA materials can be used without support. [Revision history] 2020/03/02 I added new files (petbottle_opener_08mm_release1.stl and petbottle_opener_08mm_thin_release1.stl) for thin fin type models. To accommodate varying 3D printer thicknesses, I designed the fins with a thickness range of 1.1mm to 0.8mm. If your printed fins are too thick to work well as an opener, try using the 0.8mm version instead. If you have a high-quality printer that can produce accurate prints, use this 0.8mm version for optimal results. 2019/11/18 I added a file (petbottle_opener_thin_release1.stl) for a thin type model. This design is more convenient to carry in your bag or pocket due to its compact size.
