Additive manufacturing (AM), a dynamic process in direct digital manufacturing (DDM) realm, enables designers to incorporate intricate geometries and personalize products through digital file manipulation. Earlier used for rapid prototyping and tooling, AM is now advanced enough for end-use parts. Our group utilizes material extrusion AM to produce golf club training grips customized to users' hands and preferred grip style from our custom-made thermoplastic polyurethane filament feedstock. Leveraging additive manufacturing and direct digital manufacturing fosters a new approach to enhance global golfer mobility. The provided design, a two-part model, is printable on various printers; the components can be adhered post-printing using plastic-compatible adhesive, followed by grip attachment onto standard golf clubs. Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Prices Fork Road, Suite 245 Goodwin Hall, Blacksburg, Virginia 24061, advises this project under Dr. Christopher Williams (cbwilliams@vt.edu).
