Personalized Bookmark
thingiverse
We wanted a unique gift for a friend, so we created our own customizable bookmark. Since we couldn't find what we were looking for, we designed it ourselves and thought others might need something similar. This bookmark is 0.06 inches thick and has a recessed area where you can insert a picture or phrase to personalize it. The recessed area measures 1.33 inches high by 1.18 inches wide by 0.02 inches deep, making it the perfect space for your personal touch. Additionally, there's a hole on one of the upper corners so you can attach a tassel, ribbon, or cord. If you're interested in adding a tassel to your bookmark, we recommend checking out this website for step-by-step instructions: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Bookmark-Tassel. We followed these instructions to create the tassel shown in our pictures. To personalize your bookmark, simply cut your insert to size and print it on thin card stock or cover it with transparency film or a clear adhesive label. Apply glue around the recessed border area of the image using a toothpick, then insert the cover into the recess to complete the assembly. You can further customize your bookmark by importing the STL file into Tinkercad or similar 3D modeling software and recessing text about 1 mm deep into the lower area of the bookmark. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerGear Printer: M2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.200mm layers Infill: 100% Notes: We used MakerGear PLA filament with a bed temperature of 70C and an extruder temperature of 220C to achieve the results shown. For best results, print in the orientation displayed in the 3D STL model file without supports. The print shown was created using 0.200mm layers, but printing with 0.100mm layers will result in a smoother bevel on the cover.
