Persistance Of Vision - POV GLOBE
cults3d
Hi Makers, Today, I'm excited to share with you a fresh project that leverages a fascinating concept: Persistence of Vision. Let's dive into what POV is all about. Any AC voltage light appears to be blinking on and off at an astonishing 60 times per second - or 60Hz, if you will. Our brains cleverly trick us into perceiving this as steady illumination. Now, let's get creative! We're going to harness the power of POV to bring a spherical image to life using just a single row of LEDs. And here's the best part: we'll need only 58 LEDs for each half of the sphere. That's a total of 116 LEDs, which is surprisingly manageable. To create the circular frame that will hold our LED array, we've chosen to use a 3D printer. You can find more details on how it all comes together in the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4GZj4AGmVk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=930jzEfo3zg
