Four miniature figurines depict the Persian Immortals, one with its base intact, another ready for adaptation to various bases. The elite army earned its title due to an ingenious recruitment strategy. Whenever a member of the formidable 10,000-strong force fell in battle or was severely injured, he was swiftly replaced by a new soldier. This innovative approach ensured that the infantry's numbers remained consistent and cohesive, even in the face of significant losses. From an outside observer's perspective, it seemed as though each soldier was invincible, with their replacement representing a form of rebirth.
