Persepolis bursts forth as a magnificent ancient Persian metropolis that arises during the 6th — 5th centuries BC. e., serving as the grand capital of the Achaemenid empire's immense domain. Seized by Alexander of Macedon in 330 BC. e., Persepolis suffers a devastating blaze that ravages its structures. Strategically situated approximately 50 km north-east of Shiraz, roughly 900 km south of Tehran, this ancient wonder enters administratively within the city limits of Marvdasht in the province of Fars, nestled near the city's boundaries.
