Perry the Platypus
thingiverse
Perry was my first 3D scanning project, which I accomplished using 123D. The process is explained in detail on this blog post: http://makerbot.umwblogs.org/3d-scanning-from-photographs-with-123d-catch. I'm quite satisfied with the outcome but would like to know how to give it a flat base and remove the table from the scan. The .obj file is available, and I used Meshmixer to remove unwanted furniture and table parts. If you decide to print your own Perry, please share a photo of him in his new home! An update: Thanks to Landru, the STL version has smoother polygons and a flat bottom. To print, download the file, generate G-code with exterior supports turned on, and start printing!
With this file you will be able to print Perry the Platypus with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Perry the Platypus.
