The Perrenoud Homestead boasts two residences situated on 4.5 hectares of land just north of Cochrane, where a rural landscape unfolds. The historic log farmhouse, dating back to the early 1890s and augmented by an extension in 1902, stands side by side with a spacious, 1910 home featuring a unique hipped roof design, verandas wrapping around two sides, and expansive south-facing bay windows that let in plenty of natural light. The site is also home to a blacksmith shop, granaries, a functional sawmill, and a cattle chute - all testaments to the area's rich ranching heritage. The Perrenoud Homestead holds immense historical value due to its direct association with early ranching operations in southern Alberta and its striking juxtaposition of an original log farmhouse with a more modern family home that replaced it.
