This sculpture by Chinese artist She Duofo is one of a pair of runners as part of a group titled 'Never Stopping' (the other being Perpetual Pace Woman, also uploaded on MyMiniFactory) cast in bronze and created to commemorate the Xiamen marathon. Jacques Rogge, president of the IOC, expressed his appreciation for the gift in a letter to Xiamen mayor Zhang Changping. "It is with pleasure that the International Olympic Committee accepts the honor to receive two statues from the group 'Never Stopping'. Your kind donation is very much appreciated," he wrote. The bronze statues, about 2 meters tall, will be delivered to Lausanne on March 25, the same day the fourth international Xiamen marathon begins. The unveiling ceremony will take place on April 24 at the Olympic Museum. She Duofo, sculptor of the Xiamen Institute of Art and Design, created the statues with the intention of capturing the Olympic spirit of striving for success in all endeavors. This object is part of "Scan The World".
