In this updated version, perpetual motion kicks in when the model tilts backwards and activates a magnet that triggers a reed switch, which then fires up a motor turning the overbalanced wheel. And perpetual motion comes to an end when either the battery runs out, the rubber band snaps, the motor gives up, or simply by tilting the model forward and tapping on the back near the reed switch to disengage the magnet. The final design uses a 30 RPM gear motor, though I've had success with 150 RPM motors, they just spun too fast for my taste. As usual, I probably forgot a file or two or who knows what else, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask as I do make plenty of mistakes. This project was designed using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced with Cura 4.0, and printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
