Perpetual motion (but not really)
thingiverse
This is an unbalanced wheel inspired by "Davincis Perpetual Motion Machine". Of course, it's not genuine perpetual motion since such a thing is practically impossible. The device features a spring-loaded "kicker" at the top designed to provide sufficient energy to rotate the wheel (in theory). In practice, this project isn't functional and serves as an example of why perpetual motion isn't entirely feasible. Feel free to print it out and do with it as you wish. Requirements: 1) 10mm steel or lead balls are needed as counterweights. 2) A 22mm skateboard ball bearing is required. Custom tolerances have been made for the use of a Makerbot Replicator2 Gen1, and may not accurately reflect the same result with your printer. Let me know what you think.
