Actually, this is just a clever disguise for a breakout board on a small IoT platform. I really like this platform - it's incredibly robust and easy to work with. The design features a snap-fit top that leaves some extra space for hanging wires, perfect for running an LED string. If you print it in a transparent or clear filament, you can use a light sensor to know when to turn the lights on and off, and even see the internal LEDs for diagnostic purposes. For added weatherproofing, just apply some silicone around the mating surface and a small blob at the wire hole.
