Perma-Proto Lamp for Ender
thingiverse
For illuminating your print area during printing, time-lapse, or other applications, you'll need the right materials. Here's what you'll require: Materials needed include LEDs, specifically regular T1/34 (5mm) types, which work great. The number of LEDs you'll need depends on how much light you want and what color they emit, typically ranging from 6 to 12 super bright LEDs with a few thousand mcd each. You can always add more later if needed. Resistors are also necessary, one per LED, using Ohm's Law for 5V minus the LED's voltage or defaulting to 200 or 220 ohm if unsure. Adafruit and Digi-Key carry Perma-Proto boards that you'll need. A USB DIY connector or other 5V power supply connector is also required. If using a Raspberry Pi controller, it will provide ample power through its USB ports. Wire, solder, translucent filament, cyanoacrylate (super) glue, and a Perma-Proto board are all necessary for this project.
