Hey Folks, for filling bottles with a specific amount of liquid (mhhhh specific liquid) we were looking for a peristaltic pump. The design from PattysLab was pretty close to our expectations in terms of flow rate, size and tubes we have around here. However to avoid some kind of sensor, we changed it to the good old stepper motor and started counting steps. After a few tests we decided to create this remix specifically for Nema 23 steppers with 8mm D-Shaft. We used a 3A Nema23 with 190 Ncm (23HS8430) which works well and provides enough torque. Maybe smaller versions work as well, but we did not have any for testing. As the design from PattysLab worked right of the printer, we took all internal measurements and transferred it to a NEMA23 size frontplate. To avoid couplers we made a single piece rotor which slides directly on the motor shaft and is secured with an M3 grub screw. The rotor needs to be printed with supports, all other parts do fine without. The mounting holes for the pump are 80mm apart. We only took basic flow rate tests and achieved around 4s for 0.5l. This included ramp up/down of the speed. So roughly 7l/min should be possible. UPDATE: A version of the rotor for 6mm shafts (6.2mm hole diameter) is now available.
