Peristaltic pump 15 sun gears 3 planets, 10 gears, 70mm diameter
thingiverse
So, the good news is that I can now get the pumps to print consistently and reliably without any jams or issues. Complex parts of the print no longer keep jamming my extruder, thanks to printing at a very slow speed for the shells (13mm/s or less). To prevent slumping, the openSCAD code had to be adjusted to prevent overhangs, which resulted in a layer of phantom mesh, but it still prints perfectly. However, even with larger teeth and cogs, the pump still tends to struggle with turning with the tygon in place, often skipping teeth altogether. In fact, two planets can collide and cause the entire system to self-destruct, even for quite large pump sizes! The video is truly spectacular, showcasing the pump's determination to keep pumping until it finally gives out. Perhaps this design just isn't feasible after all? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
