Composed mainly of Olivine (40-60%), pyroxenes, amphiboles, ferromagnesian mica, and melilite, peridotites dominate this unforgiving environment. Essential minerals drive peridotite's foundation: olivine, clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene Non-essential minerals like chromite and spinel also make appearances, adding complexity to the rock's composition.
