I'm excited about my WEN 4208 8" drill press - it's an awesome tool! However, I've found that you can't fit the Cross Slide on and still have room for end mill bits if the platform is in place. To solve this problem, I swing the platform to the back and use a block (the STL file) to lift the cross slide vice high enough so I can put a work piece in the vice. At this height, I can now use my end mill bits to face work pieces because with the chuck extended down it comes close to the top of the vice. This setup gives me the largest work area from top to bottom. To make this possible, I needed a 1.5" spacer for the Cross Slide vice so I could use my End Mill bits to do facing moves. With this part, it's now achievable. Securing these bolts is a two-person job unless you tip the drill press on its side - use a 19mm wrench and a crescent wrench to secure them. I used these bolts to secure it after drilling two new holes. The parts I needed are M12-1.25 x 70mm Bolts from Needa, available in packs of two, and M12x1.25 mm Self-Locking Nylon Insert Hex Lock Nuts from Uxcell, sold in packs of six. I'm now using these wonderful end mill bits - don't let their low price fool you! They're high-speed steel HSS 4-flute straight end mill cutters with 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" and 1/2" shank sizes.
