Pergo Standard Tripod or Camera Thumb Screw
thingiverse
This is a standard thumb screw for a Tripod with a 14 mm head and a 1/4 #20 thread. This is the correct thread size for common camera mounts but it's wise to ream it initially to avoid any issues. Stick with the process. I've included a shorter version, as I had one camera with a shallow mount that required this screw. I used PLA and it worked perfectly. ABS is much easier to work with and seems to cut the threads better too. Nylon might be the best option. Print with no supports, 100% infill, and .1 mm layer height for optimal results. When working on the threads for the first few times, turn the screw in 1/8 turn, then back about 1/8 turn each time. Repeat this process until the screw reaches the bottom. I used a rag on the screw head to protect my skin from cuts during the initial threading process. The screw head grooves are amazing once this process is complete. You'll curse them when cleaning up the threads initially, but you'll understand after the first successful installation. Once you hit the bottom the first time, each subsequent screwing in will be smooth and effortless.
