I required an accurate measurement but my calipers only measure up to 155 mm at their maximum. I frequently encounter this problem, so I decided to create a measuring stick. The minor tick marks are 2 mm apart and the major ones are 10 mm as counted off by the numbers. Most measuring sticks that extend to this length are printed in cm rather than mm. This might make it slightly non-standard, but everyone I know who designs things types in mm - at least, I do! This ruler was printed using a .2 mm nozzle. It will not work with a .4 mm nozzle because the slicer will not generate the numbers. Nozzles of .3 and .25 mm will slice correctly, but if you have a .2 mm nozzle, you will be much happier with the results! I measured 154 mm on my digital calipers, and it was exactly 154.00 mm. As for the black numbers, I printed this ruler exclusively in white Ziro PLA. Then, using a magnifying glass and a fine-point sharpie, I highlighted the numbers. The numbers are raised enough that it was not even a difficult task to get just the numbers without messing up. A larger or blunter sharpie would still work well because of the clearance difference between the numbers and the ruler base. Giving back to the community, enjoy! I am considering making a longer one but I started with one that I know most people with standard-sized beds are at about 250 mm maximum bed sizes. Don't forget that if you're in the 220 mm area, you can print in a diagonal direction (corner to corner) to get a longer max since this item is small. Any shorter than 150 mm, you might just as well use your calipers.
