Updated:02/23/16 made a tad thicker and more sturdy First of all, I want to THANK everyone who played their part in getting a really decent cable chain for the Robo3D. Herby, thanks for creating the "Robo3D Cable Chain Quick Install No Rewire or Carriage Replacement" on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1154650 DanZca6, your deck cover and "Robo3d deck hole cover accessories" that connected the cable chain to the deck cover were super helpful: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:990408 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1105170 SonnyDR, I didn't end up using your cover due to my stepper's heat issues. Getting a cable chain without rewiring is truly awesome. This little gadget I made keeps the heat away from the stepper and it's easy to print. The M3 screws I used are 76mm long, but I had to trim 4mm off the top one. The bottom hole took the entire length. Be sure to smooth out the cut threads so you don't damage the stepper's threads. The cable chain points up with its rounded corners. My cable chain was printed with multiple colors because I found that PLA ones break too easily. So, I started using my ABS sample colors instead. Why don't samples come in lengths that are long enough to actually make something useful? 23 grams is barely enough.
