Pergo 1/2" PVC Exapandable Shoe Rack
thingiverse
I'm using standard 1/2" PVC schedule 40 pipe. I picked up 10 ft of this for approximately $2.49 and when cut into 2.5 ft lengths, it yields three levels. One row is placed on the floor, with two more on the pipes. Lay X's on the back, print at .3 mm with supports. Use seven shells and a ten percent infill. The final product feels quite sturdy. I could see this easily supporting 5/6 rows at 2.5 ft lengths. Any higher or longer pipe would require more shells for added strength. The fit of the PVC pipe is just tight enough to hold without glue, yet not too tight that you can't easily take it back apart with a lot of effort. If you print this design, I'd love to see it! Also, remember to turn the lettering on the PVC pipes so they point downwards. A clean white-looking pipe looks much better than one with turned-up lettering.
