The Peresvet class consisted of three pre-dreadnought battleships built by the Imperial Russian Navy around the turn of the 19th century. Completed in succession, Peresvet and Pobeda were assigned to the Pacific Squadron and stationed at Port Arthur from 1901 and 1903 respectively. The trio met a disastrous fate during the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-05; Peresvet and Pobeda engaged in battles at Port Arthur and the Yellow Sea before being torpedoed during the Siege of Port Arthur. Meanwhile, Oslyabya sailed to the Far East with the Second Pacific Squadron to relieve besieged Russian forces at Port Arthur but was sunk at the Battle of Tsushima with heavy losses. Pictures reveal various iterations of this design, showcasing its evolution as it incorporated vents while refining finicky details that proved problematic at small scales. Gun barrels are exaggerated for visual clarity and printing purposes.
