This motor is similar to others but I added a second drum for the self-contained generator. This was inspired by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAIG0-lNSEs The coils for the generator came from a pancake motor that I salvaged from an old ceiling fan. It works perfectly for this purpose. I also added a bridge rectifier and a 12-volt regulator, then connected it to a DC-to-AC converter for my regulated 110-120 VAC output. This project is still in progress and will continue to evolve. I don't own a 3D printer yet, but one is on the way this week. Over the past three years, I've been researching and gathering information from various sources while learning to create things in the digital realm. I also had to learn how to use computer-aided design (CAD) software. The program I used to create my parts is similar to SolidWorks. Please take a look at this 9-minute video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXgMY3-hlgs . This free CAD software is called DesignSpark Mechanical and can be found at http://www.rs-online.com/designspark/electronics/eng/page/mechanical . I started out using Blender for about a year, but when I discovered DSM, I was amazed by its capabilities. What I had learned in Blender took me only 3-4 hours to learn in DSM. I highly recommend it.
