Percussion Block

Here we go: Hi there! My name is out in front, and I'm an exchange student calling the United States home for now. Michigan is the state where you'll find me, attending classes at Paw Paw High School. Back where it all started, though, is Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. A fascination with percussion blocks developed when watching a string of videos showcasing these instruments in action, and it was their distinct sound production that really left an impression on me. Now about my Percussion Block Project This project was conceived after spotting several standard-issue percussion blocks within our school band room. These, I noticed, mostly had rectangular shapes, so my next move involved jotting down a few sketches to shake things up and envisioning different designs for the percussion block. It was only after exploring a bunch of alternatives that the semi-circular shape emerged as my top contender. Check out some early sketches below.
