Insert a half-inch dowel into the caps, fit the threads through evenly spaced cage bars and secure them with nuts. The best aspect of this design is that your dowel doesn't need to be cut precisely. It worked for me by scaling down the impressive "Knurling bolt and nut" designed by akira3dp0 - you can enlarge it if you have a larger dowel or larger cage. This design does not require supports. Print with PETG if possible, as it offers lower toxicity in case your bird accidentally chews on the parts.
