These miniature pepperboxes were mass-produced during the second half of the 19th century by a variety of manufacturers, ranging from high-end firms to obscure metalworkers in major centers like Liege, Belgium. Some examples boasted luxurious adornments and grip plates crafted from precious materials, while others remained relatively plain. The LeFouché cartridge is no longer used; therefore, this model was redesigned to accommodate the 6.35x15mm Browning cartridge. Initially, these models lacked a safety mechanism, with one chamber simply left empty...A safety feature had to be invented here. Those who don't need it may opt to remove it altogether.
