Pepper Mill/Grinder
thingiverse
Introducing a 3D printed pepper mill/grinder housing, designed for use with a specific grinder mechanism found on Amazon. The maker initially considered buying or creating a wooden alternative but opted to demonstrate the potential of 3D printing instead. The cost was low at around $6.75 in materials, and the object was printed on an Ultimaker 1 using ColorFabb XT (PLA would also work). This is the creator's first attempt, and they welcome improvements to appearance, material usage, and functionality. SolidWorks part files are included for customization. Print settings: Layer height - 0.2mm, Shell thickness - 1.2mm, Bottom/Top thickness - 1mm, Fill density - 20%, Print speed - 50mm/s, Print temperature - 240C. Orient the design with the top part standing on its largest fillet and the bottom part standing on its two cylinders. No support or scaling required. Update 1: After printing, the grinder works well but could be slightly shorter for better thread engagement. Update 2: The original file was resized to reduce the Pepper Grinder Base height by 2.5mm for improved functionality.
