Peon 230 Floating FPV Cam Mount
thingiverse
This is a floating camera mount designed specifically for Tech2C's awesome Peon230 Quadcopter (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:629338). I wanted to use FPV as well as capture high-definition footage, but adding a second camera would have added unnecessary weight. So, I used the RunCam Split 2 instead, which only has one major problem: its internal mounting plate absorbs no vibrations or bumps you might encounter while flying. To solve this issue, I designed a "Floating" Camera Mount that utilizes four anti-vibration rubber balls rather than the standard three. This allows it to hold the mounting plate vertical and prevents sagging. Two versions of the design are available: one with a full back plate and another with a wire pass-through on the bottom for those who prefer not to run the wire along the side. The camera bracket holes are 12mm apart, fitting perfectly within the 6-19 mm range offered by most brackets, and standard 3mm screws can be used without nuts. An added benefit is that the blades remain out of the camera shot, even with the super-wide angle of the RunCam Split 2. I use July Miracle Anti-Vibration Balls from Amazon, which come in packs of 20 for under $9.00. If you print this design, please upload a photo to the "I Made One" tab; I love seeing my creations brought to life!
