The most preferred writing tool in my collection is a mechanical pencil. It's worth giving it a shot if you're a fan of this type of pen. An unconventional use for this pencil that I discovered is for measuring the depth of small holes or features. To do this, I extend the lead and utilize the tip as a stopper. Afterward, I measure the length of the protruding lead with dial calipers to determine the depth.
