This is a versatile accessory grip and cold shoe specifically designed for the popular Pentax MX-1 camera. Despite its relatively small sensor size, which may seem outdated by today's standards, the MX-1 benefits significantly from an external flash attachment. The ergonomic grip provides a more substantial feel in the hand, especially when paired with a heavy external flash unit. Additionally, the cold shoe allows for the mounting of microphones and other accessories. You can trigger the external flash by setting it to optical slave mode and using the built-in flash as a trigger source. This enables you to utilize the external flash as either a fill light, possibly with a diffuser attachment, or block its direct output to your subject altogether.
