The Pentaceratops is a type of dinosaur that was characterized by its distinctive frill on the back of its skull and five pairs of horns protruding from the frill itself. Its name literally means "five horned face," which was likely meant to intimidate potential predators. In fact, this impressive display may have been used as a form of communication with other Pentaceratops.
