Penrhyn Quarry "Midland" Slate Wagon

thingiverse

This is a Penrhyn slate wagon, of the type built by the Midland Carriage and Wagon works (the popular Meridian Models kit represents the De Winton design). There is a a video of some running trials here: https://youtu.be/2DYVGhL4mUE This uses the same custom 3D print wheelsets as my Dinorwig wagons, standard 009/N wheelsets will not fit. There are three variations of this wagon with differing buffer types. The half-height buffer allows for the fitting of a Greenwich coupling in the buffer beam slot, the full height buffer blocks the slot. If you want full greenwich couplings on both ends, use the "half buffers", for a greenwich coupling on one and and a chain on the other use 'mixed buffers', while for chain couplings on both ends, use 'full-buffers'. The rake in the pictures uses a 'mixed buffers' wagon on each end and 'full-buffers' in the middle. For other coupling types, take your pick!
