Penny Pontoon Boat

Penny Pontoon Boat

thingiverse

This boat is a work in progress, but its core concept relies heavily on using pennies to demonstrate buoyancy through scientific experimentation. Pennies are commonly used in science classes to teach about buoyancy due to their affordability and ease of handling for kids. The pontoons on this vessel hold the pennies, allowing students to measure the impact on the boat's stability. Labels on the ends of the pontoons on one side facilitate measuring tilt degrees (180 & 360), while labels on the other side enable measuring depth levels (1 & 2 cm). By adding more pennies, students can observe changes in buoyancy and predict outcomes based on their experiments. They isolate variables, collect data through measurement, and draw conclusions from their findings.
