Penny pendant necklace
thingiverse
Okay I'm a total newcomer to designing stuff. This small pendant is made to hold a penny. I really like Indian Head pennies so that's what I chose. If you give this a shot, you might be surprised. On my 3D printer with .3 layers, I pause before layer 11 starts. Insert the coin into the hole that matches its size, then hit resume. The shock comes when the print head moves onto the coin and begins spinning it to create the perimeter design. After that, it seems to work pretty well. The pendant is designed so the coin will spin around. If you want the front of the penny facing up, you can have the Indian Head side showing. If you want "one cent" side facing up, spin the coin so that's visible. Oh, and one thing I've learned is what's possible when you're feeling creative after a few drinks.
