Penny Launcher
thingiverse
The rubber band-powered penny launcher is a popular choice for engineering office conflicts. Although similar disc launchers exist, none met my specific requirements. I quickly constructed this simple version featuring double-wrapped rubber bands for extended range across the lab. In the US, pennies measure 19mm in diameter and 1.55mm thickness. For an updated version with fixed geometry, print all three parts using #4-40 screws (approximately 0.5 inches long) while ensuring front screws are tight and rear ones loose to prevent jamming. Note that the slider (part 3) must be made solid to avoid frequent breakage; however, these are easy to print and replace.
