Penny Flyer (NOT! for CO2 laser cutters!)
thingiverse
Update! Caution! Not for CO2 Laser Cutters! The foam is made from a type of vinyl that is toxic to lasers. R.I.P. My first laser tube. ;-( A simple 9-inch flyer constructed from craft foam and pennies in the ring for added weight. Fast to cut, easy to assemble, and incredibly fun to play with. I have a video available, but 3GP format is not supported, I apologize. Print Settings Printer: FSL Hobby 40w Laser Cutter Notes: !! Be sure to delete the ring of holes for the outside sheets!! Those holes are designed for pennies between the sheets. Post-Printing Assembly: Minimum, cut one sheet with the holes and two sheets without the holes. Use tacky glue or a glue stick for flexibility around the holes between the solid sheets. Make sure to attach the pennies to at least one of the solid sheets. I offset the cutouts so that all three colors would show. You can alter the design by removing every third wedge of cutouts and assembling them with each color having their own wedge. How I Designed This Inspiration: They sell foam flyers at the store where I work. Frankly, I was unimpressed with their quality for the price, so I decided to create my own version. This is the result. :-) Custom Section Customizing your flyers: You can cut out more solid sheets for extra stability. Colors and positioning are entirely up to you. The number of pennies is up to you to choose, possibly through trial and error. Maybe even heavier items like washers?
