Penny Bottle Opener with Embedded Magnet
thingiverse
I'm excited to share my thoughts on the penny bottle opener. The design allows for an optional 0.25" long, 0.25" diameter (6.4 x 6.4 mm) cylindrical magnet that can be inserted just above the cap, giving the opener a secure hold on the cap. This feature is completely optional and won't affect the opener's ability to function without it. If you decide to add a magnet, make sure to inspect your print layers carefully and insert a pause at the end of the layer before the magnet space is covered in your G-code. I've had success with this approach using my MP Mini printer by adding the following commands: M401 ; store position M600 0 0 0 0 0 ; pause M402 ; restore position Keep in mind that these instructions may not work for all printers, but many people have experimented with embedding objects in prints, and you can find plenty of examples online. If you need a version of the penny bottle opener in your country's currency, simply shoot me a message with the dimensions in millimeters and I'll do my best to create an updated model. Please note that there are no guarantees on delivery time. Lastly, be aware that the penny insertion is designed as an interference fit, which means you may need to apply some gentle force to get it in place without it being loose. If you experience any issues with the fit or strength of your prints, double-check your print settings and printer calibration before commenting.
