Pendulum Clock
thingiverse
I've always been captivated by clocks, having a 3D printer gave me the chance to experiment with clock design and even learn something new. This clock is the outcome of deconstructing many different designs created by others who are more knowledgeable. This clock operates for 16-18 hours before rewinding. I'm fairly confident that I could double that time by modifying the weight gear. Something to explore in the future. I've included assembly instructions in a pdf document. UPDATE 10/30/2020 After eight months of operation, I realized that the original method of attaching the pendulum (with a two-piece 'slip fit' fork) was not a good idea. Over time, the 'slip-fit' became a 'too-loose-fit', causing the beat of the escapement (the tick-tock) to be inconsistent and difficult (or impossible) to adjust. I've replaced the two-piece design with a one-piece solid part (file '11A-Pendulum_Fork_Solid.stl') and updated the assembly PDF (see page 29). It's working much better now.
