Lauren Lee, a student at Kennedy Middle School, has created an intriguing pendant design that embodies the diverse beauty of our planet. The centerpiece of her work is the Korean national flower, mugunghwa, which forms an outer mesh. Peering through this mesh reveals a globe displaying seven other national flowers - selected from each continent - including the rose (USA), Chilean bellflower, German cornflower, Egyptian lotus, Antarctic wildflowers, Australian parramatta flower and Japanese sakura. Despite global conflicts, she believes that appreciation for beauty is universal, thus her pendant design promotes harmony among nations.
