Pendant Light Shade #3 (Blue)

This is a unique shade printed to fit a particular Westinghouse Mini-Pendant light commonly found at home improvement stores and Amazon (link below). A small LED bulb can be inserted into the fixture, but make sure not to use an incandescent bulb as it will get too hot. The shade was printed with clear PLA on a BQ Hephestos Prusa i3 using a PRINTinZ Zebra Plate. The blue color comes from running the filament through a Staz-on Teal Blue ink pad (link below). A 1/8" hole was drilled through the pad and its plastic case, allowing the filament to wick up the ink before it reaches the extruder. Little struts were printed to hold the pad in place on my Prusa. It took 11 hours to print at 0.2mm layer height, and my wife has asked me to change it so the inner wall is straight too. Printer Settings: Printer: BQ Hephestos Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: Initially, a 1/16" hole was attempted in the ink pad for full contact, but it caused too much drag and the first couple prints failed. The hole was then opened up to an eighth of an inch, resulting in successful prints with no clogs or issues. Post-Printing: The very bottom corner needs to be filed down to remove a sharp edge, allowing the shade to fit into the light housing properly. Design: Designed using Solidworks.
