Pencil Newton
pinshape
A creative Newton's Cradle made with just four pencils, reducing plastic usage significantly. Print out five slings, five hangers, and four support pieces. Use monofilament or string to hang the slings from the top rails. The slings are designed to hold a 1" ball bearing, so adjust them according to the size of the ball you use. When assembling this cradle, make sure the erasers are at the bottom of the assembly. This will keep it stable and in place as it moves. You can secure the top braces and hangers with tape or glue. It's a good idea to glue the ball bearings into the slings tightly, as sudden shocks might dislodge them if they're not securely attached.
