Pencil Necklace

This adorable pencil necklace makes a fantastic gift for teens, but adults adore them just as much. I created this in Tinkercad and printed it on a Monoprice Mini Select III printer using MG Chemicals Wood 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm to give it an authentic pencil appearance. After that, I painted it with craft paint. (HINT: Sharpie permanent markers work just as well on wood filament!) You can easily scale this model to make it any size you prefer. If you keep it the same, the pencil will be 1 1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch wide. I used Cura as my slicing software. I opted for a 20 percent fill rate, but you can choose whatever fill density works best for you. I didn't use rafts, but did enable supports since the pencil doesn't lie flat on the bed. You could also print it standing upright, but then you'd need to use rafts and no support. With a print speed of 2.0 mm and a fill density of 20 percent, it took about 18 minutes for me to print one pencil. I hope you love my design! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
