Pencil holder for metal shelving

Pencil holder for metal shelving

I had to come up with a solution to clear my work surfaces in my workshop, so I designed this simple holder for pencils and small tools. It works perfectly with shelving that has rods spaced about 19 to 20mm apart, and the rod at the edge of the shelving it fits over is roughly 7mm in diameter. This little holder works really well, so I'm thinking of adding more items later on. For lightweight objects, an infill of 20 is sufficient. In Cura, I selected 'nowhere' for 'fill gaps between walls' to minimize print time, which results in thinner walls with no infill at all - and it turns out just fine. Two things: the divider doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the cups, leaving a very small gap there; however, your supports will easily fill that gap in. This wasn't intentional - it was an error I didn't know how to fix once everything else was done.
