Pencil Holder for Desk

Pencil Holder for Desk

thingiverse

This is a pencil holder that I've designed to clip onto the edge of a craft table. It features 74 9mm holes in the top and a grid on the bottom for precise pencil alignment. Specifically created for Caran d'Ache Colored and Derwent Pencils, this design should fit most similar pencils with ease. The edge clip fits snugly against the desk with friction after some testing, making it a reliable holder. Note that this was designed for a craft desk with a 15mm thickness, so you may need to adjust accordingly for your setup. Both the top and bottom pieces print separately, with the bottom requiring no special printing requirements. The design's nature makes it quite rigid, but the top piece needs more attention when printed upside down with supports that will support the clip piece. Once both pieces are printed, they press fit together seamlessly. I recommend printing the top piece with increased infill, more top and bottom layers, and additional perimeter shells for extra support. The main body is strong, but the legs could benefit from extra reinforcement. I used 50% infill, 6 top and bottom layers, and 6 perimeter shells in my design. You'll notice that a logo has been etched into the photo - it's 2mm deep and prints well on the side.
