I'm excited to share this awesome DIY project with you - a 3D printable pencil holder that's easy to make and customize! First things first, let's get our 3D modeling software fired up (I'll be using Tinkercad in this tutorial). Create a new project and set the scale to 1:1. Now, we need to design our pencil holder. Start by drawing a simple cylinder with a diameter of about 2 inches (5 cm) and a height of around 4 inches (10 cm). Next, we'll add some features to make this pencil holder extra special. Now that our design is ready, let's get printing! Load up the STL file into your 3D slicer software (I'll be using Cura) and start slicing the model. Choose a layer height of around 0.2 mm for optimal print quality. As we wait for the print to finish, let's talk about the materials used in this project. You can use any type of filament you like, but PLA or PETG work great for everyday objects like pencil holders. Just make sure to calibrate your printer beforehand to ensure the best results. Once the print is complete, remove it from the printer bed and sand down any rough edges. Your 3D printed pencil holder is now ready for use! Simply place your pencils inside the holder, and voila - you have a stylish and functional desk accessory. Customization time!
