Pencil Guard for Iskn Slate
pinshape
I recently acquired an ISKN Slate (2nd generation) prior to Inktober 2017, and I'm glad I did. Although the packaging for the various accessories is well-designed, it's not very portable. At the same time, having to readjust the magnetic ring after carrying it in my back for a while can be inconvenient. The answer lies in a rubber boot that fits snugly around the pencil, holding the ring securely in place. This boot also protects the point of your pencil from getting dull or breaking off during transport. This 3D printed item was created on a M3D Micro using their Tough 3D Ink (code: TGB, color: Orange Heft). It features thick, hollow walls and no infill. The software used doesn't go into specifics, but it's clear that the shell is at least 1mm thick. Overhangs are minimal, although some trimming of the upper part that encloses the ring may be necessary. A small pinhole in the bottom serves as a support for the floor of the chamber. It's not meant to nest the pencil point.
